On March 19, the church celebrates the Solemnity of St. Joseph, the Betrothed of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
\nThe liturgy compares Joseph to Abraham, with his firm faith, his strong hope and trust. Not a word has come down to us about Joseph, but his persistent silence is not filled with complaints, but is always followed by concrete and obedient actions to God: deeds of love towards the Son whom God entrusted to his care, and deeds of love towards Mary who was entrusted by the divine plan to his goodness and justice; deeds of hope and trust in God who chose him to lead and protect his Holy Family, from whom a new people, the Church, would be born. To this day, Joseph continues to protect and serve his family with deeds of love and intercession.
\n\"Each of us can discover in St. Joseph - a man who goes unnoticed, a daily, humble and hidden presence - an intercessor, a support and a guide in difficult times. St. Joseph reminds us that those who seem hidden or in the shadows can play an incomparable role in salvation history. We have a word of gratitude and thanksgiving to them,\" Pope Francis said of St. Joseph.<\/p>\n
Let us trust St. Joseph with our Church, the Family of God, believe in his mighty intercession, and, like him, let us entrust with confidence and hope our lives to the Lord, His saving plan: let us not be afraid to do God's will, without complaint, but with deeds full of love for God and His Family!<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
