On December 24, a festive service in honor of the Nativity of Christ was held in our church.
The homily of Fr. Ditmar's homily, reflections, psalms and hymns helped the brothers and sisters to immerse themselves in the mystery of Christmas and to realize that the presence of God helps us to become "less skeptical, cynical, inert, and fills life with meaning and true value", when we are ready, following the example of the Apostle Paul, to become "missionaries, chosen to proclaim the great event - the Gospel promised in the ancient Scriptures through the prophets of Christ, born as a man of the seed of David and revealed as the Son of God with power."
On Christmas Eve, we can take a long look at the images of the Child Jesus. In these pictures, representing the self-humbled Lord, we sense God's call. The Almighty needs human help as the most defenseless creature. From the cradle of Bethlehem, Christ tells us all and each of us individually that He needs us. He calls us to a Christian life without compromise - a life of devotion, hard work and joy.
In this time of grace, when we open the doors of our hearts, our families and our communities to Christ, we ourselves enter into that living sanctuary that is Jesus, in order to have the experience of God's love in Him, the experience of the joy of communion with God and with one another in Him. Let this be a moment of living and personal encounter with the Lord Jesus, the "door" of salvation [cf. Jn 10:7.9]
You will come into this world,
You're coming.
Under the shining stars of Bethlehem.
Bring it into the world,
You'll get it.
The light of hope and the joy of Eden.
You call me, you call me.
And my soul is once again rejoicing.
And you'll bring me back, and you'll bring me back.
To the next world where love triumphs.
She'll sing to you, she'll sing to you
The choir of Heaven, praising You.
It's coming down again, it's coming down
The glory of God illuminating the whole world.
